According to Proverbs, a Good Friend and Neighbor  is…

  1.    Peaceful and does not plan or plot against you.  A person you can trust.

Proverbs 3:29  Do not plan evil against your neighbor, who dwells trustingly beside you.

               

  1.    Restrained and Calm

Proverbs 17:27  Whoever restrains his words has knowledge, and he who has a cool spirit is a man of understanding.

Proverbs 12:18 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Proverbs 12:25  Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad.

Proverbs 11:9  With his mouth the godless man would destroy his neighbor, but by knowledge the righteous are delivered.

Proverbs 11:12  Whoever belittles his neighbor lacks sense, but a man of understanding remains silent.

          

  1.    Kind and generous instead of harsh.  

Proverbs 14:21  Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor.

 

  1.    Understands that he must keep his distance from some people.  

Proverbs 22:24-25  Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.
