Hello Parents of Kids, 3rd grade and up!

We’d like to invite you to join Pastor Adam Mumpower, Matt Harris, and some of our elders for Communicants Class for five Sundays this spring, beginning March 28.  Class will be held at the church from 5PM6PM.   The Communicants class at Redeemer is designed to assist parents in teaching their children the basics of the Christian faith and to encourage their children to become communing members of Church of the Redeemer.  The class is for children that are interested in becoming a Christian, have questions about Christianity, or have recently become a Christian and now want to become a full-member of Church of the Redeemer.  Children are encouraged to take the class alongside at least one of their parents.

Click here for more information and to sign up.  Please include your children’s name & grade level in the comment section.

  “In His Image”

Are you new to Redeemer or have you been here for a while? Are you seeking a place to serve?  We need you!

Our Adult In His Image class meets at 9:00am every Sunday morning.  In His Image is a ministry of Church of the Redeemer that comes alongside individuals and families affected by disability.

We are looking for someone who would like to volunteer once a month to come alongside two young men.

Do I have to have experience teaching?  No!

Do I have a lot of preparation?  No!

Will someone help train me if I choose to volunteer?  Yes!

Will I get all the veggie straws I want?  Yes!

If you are looking for an opportunity to serve that will leave you walking away blessed, come join us in the Adult In His Image class.  If you are interested contact Hunter Carter or Michelle Hilton.

Our Purpose

COR Kids exists to assist families in building a spiritual foundation that will lead a child to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ (Psalm 127:1).We seek to fulfill this purpose in the following ways:

  • Allow kids to learn in a fun, exciting, safe, loving and nurturing environment.
  • Reinforce God’s Word in the hearts of children and provide solid Bible teaching at age-appropriate levels.
  • Help children experience Jesus’ love and discover who Jesus is, who God has created them to be and how they can strengthen their relationship with Him.
  • Encourage kids to share their faith, minister to each other and serve the community.

Sunday Mornings

At the 9:00am Sunday School time, COR Kids offers nursery care for children under 2 years old, as well as classes for children 2 years through 5th grade.

At the 10:30am worship service, COR Kids offers nursery and preschool classes (3 years and under) throughout entire the service.  Parents may take children to the Redeemer Kids ministry welcome center (see below) before the service.  In addition, children ages 4years – 5th grade may be dismissed at a certain point during the service for a special COR Kids worship time.

Check-in/Check-out

When you first arrive at Sun Valley High School, please take your children to the COR Kids welcome center (to get there, please go through the main entrance to Sun Valley High School and turn right to go down the children’s ministry hall).  It is here that we will be able to properly greet you, register your children and show them to their classrooms.

Upon check-in, a name badge will be placed on your child with a security number.  Parents will receive a security tag with the corresponding number.  Please keep your parent tag in a safe place – you will need it to pick up your child.

When you pick up your child, please show your receipt tag to the door monitor in each classroom when exiting so he/she can match it to the number on your child’s name badge.  Please allow the door monitor to remove your child’s name badge.

If your child needs you during the service, we will post your child’s receipt tag number on the digital display located on the wall left of the stage.  Once alerted, please come promptly to your child’s classroom.

In His Image: A Ministry for Individuals Affected by Disability

Our desire is to come alongside families affected by disability.  We desire to be of support in building a spiritual foundation that will lead children and adults to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.  COR Kids offers a class for adaptive learning needs and a sensory room during the Sunday School hour (9:00AM) and worship hour (10:30AM).  We also have wonderful volunteers who desire to come alongside children and adults in our classrooms.
